Sweet Delight: Classic Chocolate Chip Cookies
Ingredients:
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups chocolate chips
- 1 cup chopped nuts (optional)
Instructions:
- Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Step 2: In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth and creamy.
- Step 3: Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
- Step 4: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add this dry mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Step 5: Fold in the chocolate chips and chopped nuts (if using).
- Step 6: Drop rounded tablespoons of cookie dough onto the prepared baking sheets, leaving space between each cookie.
- Step 7: Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden. The centers may still be soft; they will firm up as they cool.
- Step 8: Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.
